Oxford is alive this week with conversations that matter. And our team at Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) will be there to contribute to them. We’re attending the Skoll World Forum, a gathering that brings together leaders working at the intersection of social innovation, climate action, and community‑led development.

With over $1.3 billion invested worldwide, the Skoll Foundation has become a critical platform for spotlighting solutions that deliver social and environmental impact at scale. Each year, the Forum creates a rare moment for practitioners, funders, and thinkers to reflect on what it truly takes to build systems that allow people and the planet to thrive.

We are proud that AIV will be represented across several sessions:

  • Pajani Singah, our Co‑Founder and Investment Director, will be speaking tomorrow and Thursday, sharing grounded insights from our work financing nature positive enterprises in the Amazon.

  • Aldo Soto, our Co‑Founder and Managing Director, will take the stage on Wednesday, contributing to a critical conversation on how green growth can unlock prosperity while ensuring responsible use of natural resources.

  • Adam Smith, our Co‑Founder and Sustainable Trade Advisor, and Paula Perrelli dos Anjos, our communications manager will be attending sessions throughout the week, connecting with partners and learning from peers across the global ecosystem.

FIRST DAY

Tomorrow, Pajani joins a session that explores how impact capital and locally rooted enterprises can work together to protect biodiversity while strengthening livelihoods for Indigenous communities, smallholder farmers, regenerative producers, and ethical buyers.

Taking place at 13:00, at the SideBar, the session is designed for funders, investors, entrepreneurs, and anyone interested in community‑led conservation. Participants will gain:

  • Practical insights into aligning livelihoods and conservation;

  • Perspectives from Indigenous leaders and practitioners;

  • Lessons from deploying patient capital in complex environments;

  • A clearer understanding of how to support community‑led models at scale.

Speakers and contributors include Rodrigo Cunha (TEDxAmazônia), Juan Carlos Jintiach (Global Alliance of Territorial Communities and AIV advisor), Pajani Singah (Amazonia Impact Ventures), Aaron Ebner (Project Yungas / Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development), and Michelle Arevalo‑Carpenter (IMPAQTO Capital).

If you’re in Oxford this week, do reach out. It would be wonderful to connect.
