We're proud to share that Amazonia Impact Ventures has been featured in the Pollination Foundation's latest Nature Finance case study.

The piece explores how AIV is using impact‑linked loans to support community‑led and forest‑positive enterprises across the Amazon, from Peru and Ecuador to Colombia and Brazil.

The case highlights the Amazonia Impact Fund, a US$25 million vehicle providing loans to cooperatives, Indigenous and community enterprises, farmer associations, and small and medium businesses across forest‑positive value chains. These loans help organisations purchase crops from smallholder producers, meet seasonal working‑capital needs, improve processing facilities and invest in regenerative agriculture and agroforestry.

What makes this model stand out is its link between finance and impact. Each loan includes agreed environmental and social targets — covering forests, biodiversity, livelihoods and gender equity — and borrowers who meet those targets receive a lower interest rate. By May 2026, the Fund has deployed US$12 million across 48 loans, reaching more than 5,000 producers across the Amazon.

The case study also opens the "engine room" behind the model: how capital is blended, how borrowers are selected, how impacts are measured, and the safeguards and technical support that make the approach work in practice.

We're grateful to the Pollination Foundation and Coast Funds teams for the thoughtful collaboration over the past months, and to the cooperatives, enterprises, producers and partners whose work brings this model to life.
