Day 2 at the Skoll World Forum has been energising. Oxford is buzzing with the energy of the global impact ecosystem: a convergence of people and ideas from every corner of the planet.
Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV)’ Co‑Founder and Investment Director, Pajani Singah, spoke in a session that drew a full room. The discussion was a clear reminder of the growing appetite for livelihood‑driven opportunities in the Amazon. We are sharing here some of the great moments we captured from the session.
As we look ahead to tomorrow, few points stand out:
First, the celebration of Earth Day 2026, a timely anchor for the Forum’s conversations and this year’s theme, Our Power, Our Planet. It’s a reminder that capital is one of the most decisive levers shaping climate outcomes. Nature‑based solutions alone could deliver up to one‑third of the emissions reductions needed by 2030, yet they remain critically underfunded.
Second, our Co‑Founder and Managing Director Aldo Soto will speak on the panel Powering Prosperity at Scale: A Just Green Transition (22 April, 14:30–16:00 BST), joining leading voices from across the Global South to explore how green economies can deliver prosperity while preserving the planet.
He will be joined by:
Huda Jaffer, SELCO Foundation
John Mundy, One Acre Fund
Ketakandriana Rafitoson, Resource Justice Network
James Mwangi, Africa Climate Ventures / Skoll Foundation
Aldo’s presence at Skoll carries a personal resonance. He lived in Oxford while completing the Executive Education in Social Finance at Saïd Business School: the spark that led him and Pajani to design the first concept of AIV.
A biologist by training, with qualifications in Rural Enterprise Development and Forest‑Resource Conservation, Aldo has dedicated his career to the Amazon. His work reflects the urgency of scaling investable pathways that keep forests standing and the bioeconomy thriving.
