Grateful to Our Ambassador in Peru

Today, we recognise Ambassador Gavin Cook, whose time at the Embajada Británica Lima has been marked by vision and genuine closeness to Peru and the Amazon. His support on the themes of green finance and the bioeconomy was essential in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
His collaboration with UK PACT, of which Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) is part, was pivotal. Backed by £1.18 million, this programme is strengthening biobusiness, securing trade agreements, and expanding sustainable forest management.
Ambassador Cook showed that diplomacy can be both strategic and human. We thank him for placing Peru firmly on the radar of the UK, for being a champion for the Amazon Bioeconomy, and wish him well in his next chapter.
