AIV honours the world’s Indigenous Peoples by highlighting their role as the Amazon’s most effective forest protectors, the global inequities they face, and the impact‑linked finance model supporting Indigenous enterprises across forest‑positive value chains.

Amazonia Impact Ventures has started UK PACT’s field work in Peru with a project session in Puerto Maldonado, bringing together producer organisations from key Amazonian value chains. The meeting introduced the diagnostic process, capacity‑building modules and plans for strengthening forest‑based enterprises across Loreto and Madre de Dios.

Through a UK PACT‑supported partnership with Pachamama, AIV is establishing end‑to‑end traceability for Amazonian nuts and fruits, using verified identities, georeferenced evidence and digital passports to turn compliance, transparency and biodiversity into investable value.

Across Junín and Pasco, AIV is working with five coffee cooperatives to strengthen their technical capacity in climate‑smart agriculture. Through agroforestry workshops led by Henry S. and Verónica López de la Lama, cooperatives learn how to restore soils, diversify crops and reduce deforestation risk. These sessions form part of AIV’s mission to build resilient, low‑emission coffee systems and support producer organisations in leading their own sustainable transition.

Peru and the UK are strengthening their collaboration on the Amazon bioeconomy, and AIV contributed to two key events in London and Lima. From supporting Peruvian superfood producers entering UK markets to advancing Peru’s National Bioeconomy Strategy, AIV continues to back climate‑positive, biodiversity‑based value chains ready for global growth.

Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) recognises its 2025 supporters and investors, including a mid‑year capital injection from Working Capital for Community Needs (WCCN), a pioneering US social impact fund that has channelled over $160M into microfinance and services for low‑income entrepreneurs in Latin America. Their backing helps AIV expand impact‑linked loans in the Amazonian bioeconomy.

We thank the Ambassador Gavin Cook’s tenure at the British Embassy in Lima for his vision, partnership, and a deep commitment to Peru and the Amazon. His leadership on green finance and the bioeconomy strengthened bilateral cooperation and helped advance UK PACT’s £1.18 million programme supporting biobusiness, trade, and sustainable forest management. He leaves a legacy that proves diplomacy can be both strategic and profoundly human.
