Yesterday, Aldo Soto and the team of Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) began an incredible 10-day trip around Peru, visiting 17 cooperatives and supporting their work on the ground.
These visits allow them to connect with Peruvian farmers and producers, witness their hard work firsthand, and understand how to better support them in their mission of protecting the environment while improving their livelihoods.
Whether it’s identifying areas for improvement, adapting objectives to enhance efficiency, or simply acknowledging their dedication, being on the ground makes a huge difference.
They are hearing powerful personal stories of locals who are trying to save the Amazon Forest from deforestation and preserve the area's incredible biodiversity. In the next few weeks, we will share some of the stories they witnessed here.
Another objective of the visits is to meet the board of governors of the cooperatives and discuss future investment cycles for 2025 and further opportunities for collaboration.
Together with Nelson Torres, our Investments Officer, Aldo and the team left Lima (the capital) to visit a few other districts of Peru: Villa Rica, Pichanaki, Satipo, Pangoa, Tarma, Jauja and Puerto Maldonado.
By fostering this close collaboration, AIV can continue to provide high-quality, bespoke loans to local communities in the Amazon Forest, which ultimately benefit all our investors and partners.
