Impact Evaluation Lab (IEL)’s work is part of a broader effort to build the infrastructure needed for impact investing to scale with integrity

We’re proud to share that Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) has been independently assessed by the Impact Evaluation Lab (IEL), an organisation raising the bar for trust, transparency and accountability in impact investing.

AIV received a strong Impact Authenticity Score across mission alignment, integration and execution. IEL plays a critical role in the sector. As impact investing grows, so do expectations for rigour. IEL is building the infrastructure that ensures impact investing scales with integrity, through independent assessments and a first‑of‑its‑kind diligence platform that helps allocators invest with confidence.

Against that backdrop, the findings for AIV are especially meaningful. The assessment highlighted several areas where AIV stands out:

  • High mission authenticity: with impact embedded from screening to structuring, including impact‑linked lending.

  • A coherent, evidence‑based impact strategy: tightly aligned with forest conservation, sustainable bioeconomy development and improved livelihoods.

  • Strong impact execution: grounded in structured data collection, borrower reporting and regular field engagement.

  • Clear additionality: financing underserved Amazonian enterprises and addressing the missing‑middle gap.

  • Meaningful contribution to the sector: through practitioner‑led innovation and recognition twice from ImpactAssets (IA50), Transformative Fund by Integrated Capital Investment, and the World Economic Forum’s UpLink – World Economic Forum Tropical Forest Alliance.

For a fund operating in one of the world’s most complex regions, this recognition matters. It validates the discipline of our model, the integrity of our mission, and the daily work of our team and partners across the Amazon. We’re honoured by this assessment and energised for what comes next.
