A group of eleven people stand in a row at an indoor ceremony, each holding a small tree‑shaped award. Behind them is a banner from Peru’s Ministry of the Environment, with plants and a presentation screen in the background.

We are honoured to have been recognised last week by Peru’s Ministry of Environment (MINAM) as an investor committed to strengthening the Amazonian bioeconomy. This recognition underscores the essential role of catalytic capital in supporting nature‑positive enterprises across the region.

The award ceremony took place during the launch of the fifth edition of “Impacta Verde”, a national programme that aims to mobilise USD 2.8 million for 100 bio‑businesses. The Vice‑Minister for the Strategic Development of Natural Resources, Carmen Vegas, highlighted the importance of continued collaboration between government, investors and entrepreneurs to conserve biodiversity, promote the sustainable use of natural resources and create economic opportunities.

For Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV), this acknowledgement is closely tied to our journey with La Campiña Perú S.A.C., one of the flagship case stories celebrated at the event. We first invested in La Campiña through the Impacta Verde programme, backing their vision to scale agroforestry‑based ginger, turmeric and cacao production in Satipo.

Since 2023, we have disbursed three loans to the enterprise, supporting their biodynamic farming, the transition to agroforestry, and the diversification of sustainable value chains. La Campiña’s progress, now recognised nationally as a biodiversity‑friendly enterprise, demonstrates how impact finance can support the growth of competitive businesses that improve sustainable land use and create dignified opportunities for smallholder producers. Our latest impact report highlighted our work with La Campiña on agroforestry implementation and training for farmers.

Our Investment Officer, Nelson Torres, attended the ceremony in Lima to receive the recognition on behalf of AIV and to celebrate the collective efforts of all organisations advancing Peru’s bio‑business ecosystem.

Congratulations to NESsT, Beneficial Returns, Fair Capital, responsAbility Investments AG, Root Capital and Shared Interest.
