Our partner, the Cooperativa Ecológica de Mujeres de Villa Rica (CEMCAVIR) has taken another step into international markets. They completed their first export shipment to a new partner, the French coffee company, Malongo. Last month, the cooperative’s president, Tania Andrade, presented their coffee (Café Mujer Ecológica) in Vienna, Austria, sharing the story of Peruvian women coffee growers with global audiences.

Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) has invested in CEMCAVIR since 2022, supporting the women to export to Inter-American Coffee (Germany), and with the latest loan now to Malongo (France). The all‑women cooperative of 70 coffee producers is based in the Pasco region, located at the meeting point between the Peruvian Andes and the Amazon.

The cooperative has now shipped a 19‑tonne container of organic coffee to France and will soon define the next volume with Malongo. Their momentum shows what is possible when strong local leadership meets committed market partners. Our team at the Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) visited the cooperative recently and met Tania, whose leadership continues to drive this transformation.

AIV’s Co-founders, Pajani Singah and Aldo Soto, met Tania on a recent trip to Villa Rica, and spent time touring the new post‑harvest infrastructure, including an ecological dryer with a capacity of 3,000 kg per day, obtained with support from DEVIDA and UNODC.

As Aldo Soto said: “We are proud to support CEMCAVIR’s progress and growth. This cooperative is a brilliant example of how sustainable value chains can create opportunity and resilience in the Amazon.”
