Did you know lands managed by Indigenous Peoples lose less tree cover, store more carbon, and support greater biodiversity than surrounding areas?
This week, London hosts the first‑ever Indigenous Business Week (15 to 18 Sept), bringing together leaders from Latin America, Africa and Asia to discuss market access, fair trade, product development and partnerships.
The programme includes a funding roundtable for the new Indigenous Chamber of Commerce, launched during London Climate Week 2025 in the presence of the Prince of Wales, Lord Zac Goldsmith, and Brazil’s Minister for Indigenous Peoples, Sonia Guajajara.
Our team at Amazonia Impact Ventures (AIV) is attending to connect with Indigenous entrepreneurs and partners committed to building sustainable trade. Since 2020, our impact-first fund has financed four Indigenous‑led cooperatives in the Amazon:
producing non‑timber forest products (Brazil nuts, Guayusa, Dragon’s Blood) and native crops (Cacao, Banana, Yuca);
creating income while keeping the forest standing.
With Indigenous leader Juan Carlos Jintiach on AIV’s advisory board, we work to link these enterprises with ethical international buyers and strengthen the role of Indigenous economies in global markets.
If you’re at Indigenous Business Week, come and say hello! Let’s talk about how impact-linked finance can protect biodiversity, value heritage, and sustain communities' livelihoods.
